A recent article in Website Magazine says “Content discovery tools are the best thing since sliced bread.” The author of the article lists some of the top tools so be sure to read the full article to learn more about each one.
One that is probably already in your “arsenal” is Hootsuite. And you thought it just helped you schedule your posts! If you struggle with finding relevant content for your social media marketing, open up Hootsuite now and give it a try. Here are some screen shots to walk you through the process.
Open Hootsuite and find Publisher in the left column.
The first time you use suggested content, you will be asked which profile you want to use for suggestions and which profiles you want to post to. Hootsuite will find 3 suggested topics based on a variety of parameters including your past posts, your contacts’ posts and trending. After you complete this brief task you will see the following screen. Click on Suggested.
Suggested posts will appear on the right.
Hover over a post and you will see options to “Read more, Edit, Replace.” Choose read more if you would like to see more information on the post. Edit will let you add your “2 cents.” Hit Replace if you don’t like the post and want to see something new.
Once the suggested post has your approval. Click the schedule button.
After you go through the suggestions for the week and edit as needed, you can click on “Scheduled” on the left and see your handiwork. As you can see in the picture below, you still have the option to Edit, Reschedule or Delete a post.
That’s the basics. There are other options you can explore, as you can see in the screen shots.
This handy tool just helped you schedule a week worth of relevant posts in less than 10 minutes (depending on how deeply you went into exploring and editing).
