Blogging: How to find your topics

blogging hit virtual assistantsWhen planning your social media’s position in respect to your business, it’s important for you to ensure your interactions will be accepted positively by your online audience. You want to provide them with honest, helpful and genuine resources which can be helpful to them, either personally or for their own businesses. This means spending time researching hot topics and promoting your findings with those who could benefit from your new knowledge. Be a leader in new topics, or try to answer someone’s questions.
If you blog on a regular basis or even strive to provide relevant posts on your social media profile, it can sometimes be difficult to find information to share. Here are some methods I use.

  1. Read news sites or blogs that are relevant to your field. If you find an article your target audience would find interesting, you can share on social media. You can also write a blog post giving your take on it, expanding the idea further or give your readers tips to apply to their business.
  2. Listen to what your current clients are asking you. If you work with a specific niche, such as coaches, you may get the same question from different clients. Chances are there are others that have the same questions.
  3. Pay attention to the news. Is something relevant to your field? Share it, comment or give your point of view through a blog post.

You are providing yourself with a presence online. This presence is one your readers, customers and potential clients will grow to appreciate, and knowing you’re aware of what’s going on and reaching out to provide guidance or clarification whenever needed shows a lot about the kind of business you run.
