Your Facebook Page: Kicking it up a notch

In the last post we discussed the basics of setting up a good Facebook Page:  But how can we kick it up several notches so that it actively helps grow your business even more effectively?
Let’s take a second look at the Legendary Whitetails Facebook header section. (This Page was so effective, it actually won an award!)

 Facebook Page

What else does it have that other Pages often miss using?
1. Sharing icons – and a call to action (“Hunt us down”)
2. Brilliant use of unique Logo combined with Cover photo
3. Link to its blog (App)
4. Highly relevant photos (App and feed)
5. High-draw App tab (Photo contest)
6. Reviews tab (App) – notice the “five star” graphic, which plants the instant notion that all reviews here give them a top rating.
7. Links in the About section
8. A clear description of what the company is all about in their Cover photo (“Apparel, Gifts, and Gear for Whitetail Hunters”).
Breaking that down, it details:

  • What they sell
  • Who their goods are for

To top it all off, they show a high degree of response to and interactivity with their customers – and the landing pages from App tabs and links on their Facebook Page consistently maintain their message and relevance, with superb quality and style.
If you take away nothing else, however, take away a determination to embed social sharing icons into your cover photo – and if you do consistently garner great reviews, create that Reviews tab!
Types of Facebook Pages You Can Create
But don’t think you’re stuck with only one Facebook Page. You can have as many as you like – just make sure they are all equally relevant – and that you can make and keep a commitment to maintain them.
You can create:

  • A Page for your Product
  • A Page for your specific Book
  • An Author Page for all your books
  • A Page for an Event you are hosting
  • A Page for a contest (though an App is usually more than sufficient)

Other Facebook Pages

Finally, don’t just post on your own Facebook Pages – create a helpful presence on the Pages of other experts in your industry:  Providing them with valuable information and answering questions for their posters is a great way to align yourself right alongside them in your target audience member’s mind.
